SUMMER REWIND: Women's Rowing Takes Home Bronze at the NCAA D3 Championships
August 04, 2018Sarasota, FL --- WPI punctuated it's best season in school history by finishing third in the varsity eight race and as a team at the NCAA Division III Women's Rowing Championships at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, FL. The team finish is the highest of any NCAA team sport in school history. -
Hovermale and de Jong Earn CRCA Division III All-America Accolades
July 16, 2018WORCESTER – Sophomore Christine Hovermale (Alameda, CA) and junior Marlies de Jong (Huntington Beach, CA) have been recognized by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) as 2018 Pocock Division III All-Americans. Hovermale was named to the first team while de Jong was selected as a second team honoree. -
Women’s Rowing Hauls in Regional and National Academic Awards
June 07, 2018WORCESTER – Junior Sarah St. Pierre (Maynard, MA) and sophomore Ally Sichler (Reading, PA) earned the team’s NERC All-Scholar award while St. Pierre also headlined a dozen WPI women’s rowing student-athletes that repeated as an NIRC All-Academic Team honoree, as announced by USRowing. In all, 16 members of the team were recognized following the May regattas. Of the 16, nine were also lauded by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA). -
WPI Men Second, Women Third in NEWMAC President Cup Standings
June 04, 2018Westwood, MA --- For the third consecutive year WPI finished second in the Men’s NEWMAC Presidents Cup standings while the women placed third, as announced at the conference's annual meetings by WPI President Laurie Leshin along with NEWMAC President and WPI Director of Physical Education, Recreation and Athletics Dana L. Harmon. -
WPI Honors 11 Major Award Winners During Annual Athletic Banquet
May 31, 2018WORCESTER – The WPI athletic department recently honored all of its 20 varsity teams which encompasses over 600 student-athletes at its annual awards banquet. During the festivities, 11 student-athletes were presented with major awards. These accolades highlight some of the best varsity student-athletes at WPI who excel both in the classroom and in their respective sports. -

WPI Grand in NCAA Women's Rowing Championships Debut
May 25, 2018Sarasota, FL --- WPI made a successful debut at the NCAA Division III Rowing Championships on Friday morning, seeing its varsity eight qualify directly for Saturday’s grand final with a second place showing in its heat at the Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, FL. The second varsity eight was the runner up in the repechage to also reach the grand final. -
Women’s Rowing Earns First-Ever Bid to NCAA Division III Championships
May 14, 2018Indianapolis, IN --- The WPI women's rowing team has been selected to participate in the NCAA Division III Championships for the first time in program history. This year's championships will be held May 25-27 at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, FL, and will be hosted by the University of Central Florida. -

May 05, 2018WORCESTER --- The WPI women’s rowing varsity eight rowed to its best-ever finish Saturday at the New England Rowing Championships on Lake Quinsigamond. The Crimson and Gray, who saw all four of its entries qualify for their respective grand finals, saw its varsity eight finish second and take home the silver medal. -

April 22, 2018WORCESTER --- The Bernard Brown Cup will remain in Worcester for the first time since 2013 as WPI Women’s Rowing defeated Tufts Sunday morning on Lake Quinsigamond. The second and fourth varsity eights also bested the Jumbos in a regatta that also featured Clark, Skidmore and William Smith. -

April 21, 2018WORCESTER --- For the second time this season the WPI women's rowing team prepared for the May championship season by racing in a heat/trial format on Saturday morning on Lake Quinsigamond. The top two Crimson and Gray boats won their respective heats with the second varsity eight capturing its final while the varsity eight claimed silver in its second row. -
