Bristol, RI --- Sophomore Leah Beauton (Colchester, CT) registered a hat-trick, including the game-winning goal, as WPI used a late outburst to fly past Roger Williams, 6-3, Tuesday night in a women's soccer match at a windy and rainy Bayside Field.
The Engineers snap a four-game skid and improve to 6-4 on the year.
After the Hawks (2-7) claimed a 2-0 lead in the first 15 minutes off tallies from freshman Kelly Yadoff (Wyckoff, NJ) and Raleigh LeMiere-Barnes (Los Angeles, CA), Beauton netted her first of the night at 27:55. Junior Kirsten Southan (Owings, MD) was credited with the helper.
With just over 10 minutes to play, Beauton completed the hat-trick with help from Hapgood. Hapgood made it 5-3 with an assist from junior Kristen McCrea (Weymouth, MA) at 85:28 while classmate Mandy St. Germain (Worcester, MA) registered a rare goalkeeper assist on Orrico's insurance goal at 88:17.
