Volleyball's Wetmore, Reynolds, Gilbert and Mullins Earn NEWVA Accolades
December 01, 2019WORCESTER -- WPI’s Amanda Wetmore and Catherine Reynolds were selected to the New England Women’s Volleyball Association (NEWVA) All-New England and All-Rookie teams while Abbie Gilbert and Colleen Mullins were chosen to participate in the association’s Senior Classic All-Star Event scheduled for Sunday, December 8th at Eastern Nazarene. -
Volleyball's Kwatinetz Recognized as Academic All-District
November 17, 2019WORCESTER -- WPI junior Sarah Kwatinetz has been selected as a member of the Volleyball Academic All-District I team, as voted upon by College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) members from Massachusetts and Maine. It marks the fourth straight season that the Engineers have had a representative on the team as 2018 Academic All-America Azita Bakhtyari had been honored the last three years. -

November 05, 2019Wellesley, MA --- Junior Lauren Gedney tallied 16 kills and senior Meghan Shoop had a match-high 20 digs as second-seeded Wellesley College volleyball swept past seventh-seeded WPI, 3-0 (25-14, 25-20, 25-21), in the quarterfinals of the 2019 New England Women's & Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Volleyball Championship on Tuesday evening at Dorothy Towne Fieldhouse. -
Volleyball Drops a Five Set Thriller to Regionally-Ranked MIT
November 02, 2019WORCESTER -- Senior Colleen Mullins had 12 kills and a team-high 13 digs, but WPI fell to MIT, 3-2, at Harrington Auditorium in the final NEWMAC volleyball regular season game for both teams.WPI won the first and third sets 25-21 and 25-20, but dropped the second, fourth and fifth sets, 25-23, 25-23 and 16-14. -

October 26, 2019New London, CT -- The WPI volleyball team worked overtime on Saturday going five sets in both matches as the Engineers split a pair of neutral contests played at Coast Guard on Saturday afternoon. The Crimson and Gray took their first match 3-2 over Eastern Connecticut (19-25, 25-10, 19-25, 25-19, 15-11) before falling 3-2 to New Paltz (25-8, 17-25, 13-25, 25-22, 15-10). -

October 12, 2019WORCESTER – Amanda Wetmore (Hudson, NH) tallied 11 kills against and Lilly Taylor (Weymouth, MA) handed out 23 assists in the opener as Taylor and Catherine Reynolds (Concord, NH) combined for at least 24 helpers in each match as WPI defeated Regis (25-23, 25-16, 25-15) and Fitchburg State (25-8, 25-9, 25-6) in a non-conference women’s volleyball trimatch Saturday in Harrington Auditorium. The Pride picked up a 3-0 win over the Falcons in the middle match with set scores of 25-16, 25-15, 25-14. -

The Engineers took the match by set scores of 28-30, 25-15, 25-19, 25-13. -
Volleyball Splits With Worcester State and Endicott to Begin 2019 Campaign
August 31, 2019WORCESTER – Amanda Gilbert (Hopkinton, MA) paced Endicott with team-bests of 14 kills versus host WPI and 11 opposite Worcester State as the Gulls went 2-0 Saturday in a tri-match in the WPI Sports & Recreation Center. The Engineers were led by Colleen Mullins (Andover, MA) and Amanda Wetmore (Hudson, NH) with 14 and 15 kills, respectively, versus the Lancers and Gulls. Natalie Gillis (Ashland, MA), meanwhile, totaled 14 kills for the two-time defending MASCAC champions. -
