Boston, MA --- Amanda Wetmore (Hudson, NH) led the WPI women's volleyball team with 15 kills against host Wentworth and nine versus Keene State as the Engineers went 0-2 on Saturday in Tansey Gymnasium.
WPI dropped the opening match to the Leopards 3-0 (15-25, 25-22, 23-25, 25-15, 15-9) before calling in the middle-match of the tri-match to the Owls 3-0 (29-27, 25-14, 25-19).
In the opener versus Wentworth, Wetmore posted a .333 hitting percentage with just three errors in 36 tries. She was joined in double digits in kills by Colleen Mullins (Andover, MA) and Sarah Kwatinetz (Seattle, MA) who had 12 and 10 respectively. Catherine Reynolds (Concord, NH) amassed a double-double with a career-high 43 assists and 14 digs while Abbie Gilbert (Hopkinton, MA) - 9 kills and 17 digs - and Suela Miloshi (Needham, MA) - 8 kills and 16 digs - narrowly missed the same feat.
Reynolds posted her sixth double-double in eight collegiate matches when she racked up 20 assists and 12 digs against Keene State. Kayleigh Campbell (Wilbraham, MA) led the defensive effort with 17 digs while Wetemore had nine kills and Maddie Sanborn (Londonderry, NH) chipped in with seven.
The Engineers open NEWMAC play on Tuesday at Babson. First serve is slated for 7pm.
