
Paxton, MA --- Vicky Hewey (Sanford, ME) won for the second straight year with a time of 20:28 as the WPI's Women's Cross Country team seized its third consecutive Worcester City Meet at Moore State Park in Paxton on Saturday morning. Hewey's effort highlighted a 1-2-3 performance for WPI, who held off a challenge from Worcester State (29-36) to win its sixth title in the 27-year history of the event.
Jenn Mann (Chelmsford, MA) and Stacey Rauen (San Gabriel, CA) completed the 1-2-3 finish for the Crimson and Gray as they placed second (21:08) and third (21:31) overall. Hannah McCallum (Lafayette, CO) crossed the finish line in 11th (22:23), while Catherine Duffty (Haverhill, MA) quickly followed in 12th (22:24). Caitlin Rush (Nashua, NH) turned in the 16th place time of 22:57, as Emily Dudley (Woburn, MA) finished 30 seconds later in 20th.
The Women's Cross Country team competes in the Tri-States Invitational at CCRI next Saturday when the air horn blasts at 11am.
