Paxton, MA --- Vicky Hewey (Sanford, ME) earned second team All-Conference honors as she finished 14th overall en route to the seventh place team finish at Moore State Park in the NEWMAC Championships. The Crimson and Gray accumulated 180 points as a team, while MIT won with 24, Wellesley placed second with 31 and Smith took third as they scored 121.
Hewey's time of 19:19, was among the 17 to break the course record. All of the top seven WPI runners improved on their times in the Worcester City Meet, which was held at the same course on September 25.
Jenn Mann (Chelmsford, MA) joined Hewey with a top 40 finish as she was credited with 39th (20:39.93). Stacey Rauen (San Gabriel, CA) ran a 44th (20:55.14) place time, while Hannah McCallum (Lafayette, CO) came in 62nd with a time of 21:29.93.
Catherine Duffty (Haverhill, MA) finished 72nd (21:48.26) and Caitlin Rush (Nashua, NH) crossed the finish line 74th (21:53.11). Kelsey Thomas (Webster, NY) posted a 79th (22:03.03) place showing for the Crimson and Gray.
Women's Cross Country will enjoy a couple weeks off and will go to Williams for the NCAA New England Regionals on November 13th at 11am.
