Women’s Cross Country Victorious at Tri-States Invitational

Lincoln, RI --- Vicky Hewey (Sanford, ME) and the Women's Cross Country team won for the second week in a row and the Tri-States Invitational for the second straight year.  Hewey bested all runners with a time of 20:16 improving on last years mark of 20:33. WPI earned 28 points to down Worcester State (33), Clark (76) and Framingham State (96).

Jenn Mann (Chelmsford, MA) followed Hewey 18 seconds later to place second (20:33). Fifth place belonged to Stacey Rauen (San Gabriel, CA) (21:17), as Hannah McCallum (Lafayette, CO) rounded out the top 10 with a time of 21:38.

Catherine Duffty (Haverhill, MA) posted a 13th place (21:49) effort.  Caitlin Rush (Nashua, NH) came in 16th place with a time of 22:08. Jess McKniff (Duxbury, MA) finished 22nd (22:45) to anchor the WPI top seven.

The Women's Cross Country team runs again at 10am, Saturday when they attend the All-New England Meet at Franklin Park.
