Women's Cross Country Finishes 37th at All-New England Meet

Boston, MA --- Sophomore Vicky Hewey (Sanford, ME) paced WPI with a 141st (19:09) place finish out of 322 runners as the Engineers came in 37th as a team in the neicaaa All-New England Meet at Franklin Park on Saturday afternoon. The meet featured teams from all NCAA divisions. Boston College, Connecticut and Middlebury earned podium finishes.

Second year runner Jenn Mann (Chelmsford, MA) rounded out the top 200 for the Engineers with a 172nd showing at 20:02. Senior Stacey Rauen (San Gabriel, CA) came in 226th (20:49) as she, along with Hewey and Mann, improved on their Engineer Cup times at the same course in the season opening meet.

Freshman Hannah McCallum (Lafayette, CO) crossed the finish line in 226th (21:44), while her sophomore teammate Catherine Duffty (Haverhill, MA) followed in 268th (21:47). Freshman Caitlin Rush (Nashua, NH) and junior Emily Dudley (Woburn, MA) rounded out the top seven for the Crimson and Gray with 273rd (21:51) and 292nd (22:35), respectively.

Women's Cross Country hosts an alumnae meet next Saturday and will return to competition in the NEWMAC Championships on October 30th at Moore State Park in Paxton.
