North Dartmouth, MA --- WPI came in eighth place at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday. Last year the Engineers turned in a 16th showing at the event.
The Crimson and Gray were led by Scott Burger (Huntington Station, NY), who finished 47th overall with a time of 26:18.39 and Lucas Smith-Horn (Ellington, CT), who crossed the finish line in 26:31.05 to snag 51st place.
Shane Ruddy (Seneca Falls, NY) came in 54th overall with a time of 26:34.67. He was followed by Andrew Zayac (Plymouth, MA - 56th/26:36.29), Dominic Gonzalez (Lowell, MA - 67th/26:44.36), Thomas Kostelak (Bernardsville, NJ - 70th/26:47.75), Robert Hollinger (Averill Park, NY - 82nd/27:03.50) and Alfred Scott (Santa Barbara, CA - 110th/27:34.68).
MIT won the event, while Rob Dextradeur (Branford, CT) of Bentley came in first overall with a time of 24:35.00.
WPI races again next Saturday when they compete at the annual Worcester City Meet hosted by Worcester State at 10:30am.
