Hewey and Women's Cross Country Both Finish Second at Western New England

Springfield, MA ---WPI came in second at the Western New England Invitational for women's cross country on Saturday, placing second in a field of 19 programs. 

Three of the top seven finishers were from WPI, led by Vicky Hewey (Sanford, ME) who came in second overall with a time of 19:18.75.

Amy Babeu (Groveland, MA) was sixth with a time of 20:13.44. Right behind her was Hannah McCallum (Lafayette, CO) in seventh at 20:15.62.

Rounding out the top eight of the Crimson and Gray were Maria Grandoni (Framingham, MA - 11th/20:26.53), Caitlin Rush (Nashua, NH - 16th/20:35.91), Mary Schwartz (Quincy, MA - 27th/20:57.41) and Jessica McKniff (Duxbury, MA - 41st/21:22.56).

The women's cross-country team is back in action on Sunday, October 30th as they head to the NEWMAC Conference Championships hosted by Wellesley at Franklin Park. They will begin at 11am.
