Women's Cross Country Finishes Season at D-III New England Regional

Brunswick, ME --- The Engineers of the WPI women's cross country program came in 28 th place in a field of 51 programs on Saturday at the NCAA Division III New England Regional hosted by Bowdoin. Middlebury won the regional championship coming in first overall while Williams and MIT finished in second and third, respectively. The meet marks the end of WPI's 2011 season.

Maria Grandoni (Framingham, MA) was the top finisher for WPI, coming in 106th place with a time of 24:00.52. Amy Babeu (Groveland, MA) was just two spots behind her in 108th place, crossing the finish line in 24:01.62. Next was Hannah McCallum (Lafayette, CO) with a 24:03.32, good for 111th.

Jessica McKniff (Duxbury, MA) had a 218th finish (25:41.25) while Mary Schwartz (Quincy, MA) was next in 229th (25:54.62). Emily Dudley (Woburn, MA) came in 241st (26:06.65) and Caitlin Walde (Edmonds, WA) completed the top seven with a finish in 269th (26:56.19).
