Brunswick, ME --- The WPI men's cross country program finished 21st of 48 teams on Saturday afternoon at the NCAA Division III New England Regional hosted by Bowdoin. Williams finished first overall, while Middlebury and the host Polar Bears finished second and third, respectively. The event concludes WPI's 2011 campaign.
Shane Ruddy (Seneca Falls, NY) paced the Engineers with a finish in 123rd, posting a time of 27:07.08, cutting a minute and 47 seconds off his finish from last year. Lucas Smith-Horn (Ellington, CT) was just three spots behind with a finish in 126th place and a time of 27:10.24. Andrew Zayac (Plymouth, MA) was next with a time of 27:17.43, good for 134th.
Robert Hollinger (Averill Park, NY) crossed the finish line in 137th with a time of 27:21.36, as Scott Burger (Huntington Station, NY) came in 139th (27:23.51). Dominic Gonzalez (Lowell, MA) finished his race in 157th (27:47.48) and Josh Brodin (Mansfield, MA) rounded out the top seven in 196th (28:28.40).
