North Dartmouth, MA --- The WPI men's cross country continued its strong start on Saturday, finishing third out of 39 scoring teams at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational. The Engineers amassed 160 points to place behind NEWMAC foes MIT and Springfield.
The Crimson and Gray placed six runners in the top 54 (out of a field of nearly 300) with Ryan Moran (Pembroke, MA) leading the way for the second straight week. The sophomore turned in a time of 25:23 while crossing the line 13th.
The Engineers had 3 other runners finish in the top forty with Andrew Zayac (Plymouth, MA ) Tobin Dancy (Shrewsbury, MA) finishing together with a time of 26:03 to nab 32nd. Jeremy Francisco (Dartmouth, MA) finished just ten seconds behind Zayac and Dancy to take home the 38th spot with a time of 26:13.
Another duo of WPI runners crossed the finish line together as Senior Josh Brodin (Mansfield, MA) finished 53rd (26:27) and Junior Rob Hollinger (Averill Park, NY) took the 54th spot. (26:28). Dominic Gonzalez (Lowell, MA) finished in a time of 27:00 to finish in 89th place.
WPI is back at it on Saturday when they compete in the Worcester City Meet hosted by Worcester State University at 10am.
