Woman's Cross Country Finishes 11th at Westfield State's James Early Invitational

Westfield, MA --- Senior Vicky Hewey (Sanford, ME) placed 17th overall to help the WPI women's cross country team to an 11th place showing at the James Early Invitational hosted by Westfield State Saturday morning. The Engineers tallied 414 team points and were just fourteen points out of the top ten showing in the 43-team event.

Freshman Julie Tevenan (Weymouth, MA) was the second Engineer to cross the finish line cracking the top fifty with a 40th place finish in a time of 23:49.72.

Hannah McCallum (Lafayette, CO) and Jessica Orr (Westerly, RI) were the next two WPI runners to finish the course. McCallum in 79th in a time of 24:50.40 and Orr in 179th in a time of 26:18.12.

Sophomore runners Caitlin Walde (Edmonds, WA) and Stephanie Lindow (Medford, WI) completed the day for the Crimson and Gray in 184th (26:23.75) and 282nd (28:22.29) respectively.  

WPI returns to action next Saturday when they compete in the Connecticut College Invitational at 11am.
