Moran Helps Men's Cross Country to a Fourth Place Showing at the James Early Invitational

Westfield, MA --- The WPI men's cross country team continued its strong season on Saturday, finishing fourth out of 40 scoring teams at the James Early Invitational hosted by Westfield State. The Engineers amassed 154 points to place behind Middlebury, Amherst and Connecticut College.

The Engineers slotted five runners in the top fifty led by sophomore Ryan Moran (Pembroke, MA), who completed the course in 26:35.58. Seniors Josh Brodin (Mansfield, MA) and Scott Burger (Huntington Station, NY) crossed the finish line back to back in 36th (27:24.07)and 37th (27:26.02) place respectively.

Robert Hollinger (Averill Park, NY) and Andrew Zayac (Plymouth, MA) also finished one after the other with Hollinger placing 43rd (27:32.78) and Zayac in 44th (27:36.48).

Also contributing to the fourth place finish for WPI and finishing in 56th place in a time of 27:47.31 was junior Dominic Gonzalez (Lowell, MA). Thomas Kostelak (Bernardsville, NJ) finished in 83rd place in a time of 28:16.02.

The Engineers return to the course next Saturday when they participate in the Connecticut College Invitational at 11am.
