Boston, MA --- The WPI men's cross country team finished ninth among Division III schools and was 29th overall at the All-New England Championships on Saturday at Franklin Park. The Crimson and Gray accumulated 804 points as Division I Central Connecticut State took home the team crown with 74 points and Middlebury led all Division III programs with 214 points.
Senior Robert Hollinger (Averill Park, NY) was the fastest Engineer with a time of 26:15 (115th) as all seven harriers finished within a span of 1:15. Junior Ryan Moran (Pembroke, MA) was 11 runners behind in 126th (26:21) while junior Andrew Zayac (Plymouth, MA) was 172nd (26:49). Freshman Austin Scott (Waddington, NY) and sophomore Tobin Dancy (Shrewsbury, MA) crossed the finish line 192nd (27:00) and 199th (27:03). Junior Patrick Murphy (Danvers, MA) (226th) and freshman Nathan Stomberg (West Greenwich, RI) (232nd) turned in times of 27:22 and 27:30 to shore up the WPI scorers.
The Engineers venture to the Connecticut College Invitational on Saturday for the final meet before the NEWMAC Championships.
