Women’s Cross Country Comes Home 10th at Connecticut College Invitational

Waterford, CT --- The WPI women's cross country team posted a 10th place finish at the Connecticut College Invitational held at Harkness Memorial State Park on Saturday. Tufts paced the field with 52 points as NEWMAC foe Coast Guard put together an eighth place showing with 206 and the Crimson and Gray recorded 262.

Sophomore Julie Tevenan (Weymouth, MA) clocked a 22:38 for 16th place. Freshman Liz Hansen (Richmond, RI) was 57th in a time of 23:46 while senior Hannah McCallum (Boulder, CO) crossed the finish line 63rd (23:52). Senior Amy Babeu (Groveland, MA) improved upon her team standing from a week ago as she went from seventh to fourth courtesy of a 70th-place time of 24:11.

Junior Maria Grandoni (Framingham, MA) turned in a 24:16 for 76th while graduate student Noelle Richard (Oxford, MA) was 89th (24:31). Junior Caitlin Walde (Edmonds, WA) raced into the top-seven with a time of 25:32 (148th).

WPI will be idle until the NEWMAC Championships at Franklin Park on Sunday, November 3.
