Bristol, RI --- The WPI men's cross country team raced to a 13th-place finish out of 46 teams at the ECAC Division III Cross Country Championships on Saturday at Colt State Park. The Crimson and Gray posted 374 points as Williams won the meet, which was hosted by Roger Williams, with 26 points.
Junior Joe Kelly (Brooklyn Park, MN) led the Boynton Hillers with a 50th place time of 27:12.65. Senior Hunter Putzke (Waterloo, WI) came home 64th (27:23.77) and classmate Dominic Gonzalez (Lowell, MA) finished 76th (27:40.30). Junior Kyle Gerlach (Smithfield, RI) added a top-100 showing with an 86th-place 27:48.66. Sophomore Lucas Roy (Bourne, MA) clocked a 28:07.79 for 101st while classmate Anthony Gallo (Rocky Hill, CT) was 128th (28:35.80) and senior Keegan Westwater (North Andover, MA) was 131st (28:38.40).
The Engineers travel to Gorham, ME on Saturday for the NCAA Division III New England Regionals hosted by Southern Maine.
