Women’s Cross Country Places 17th at NCAA Division III Regionals

Gorham, ME --- The WPI women's cross country team raced to a 17th-place showing at the NCAA Division III New England Regionals on Saturday at Southern Maine. The Engineers turned in 521 points as Williams posted 44 points for the team crown.

Seniors Amy Babeu (Groveland, MA) and Hannah McCallum (Boulder, CO) turned in times of 23:34.44 and 24:50.24 in their final race for the Crimson and Gray. Sophomore Julie Tevenan (Weymouth, MA) led WPI with a time of 22:21.17, which was good for 40th place.

Freshman Liz Hansen (Richmond, RI) finished three spots ahead of Babeu as she crossed the finish line 105th (23:33.95). Junior Maria Grandoni (Framingham, MA) clocked a 24:13.50 for 131st place as graduate student Noelle Richard (Oxford, MA) officially completed her decorated collegiate career with a 137th-place time of 24:15.76.
