North Dartmouth, MA --- Led by top-25 efforts by Julie Tevenan (Weymouth, MA) and Emily Newman (Easton, MA), the WPI women's cross country team finished 10th at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday morning. East Stroudsburg claimed the team title with 93 points while the Engineers amassed 260 points and were the highest finishing team from the NEWMAC.
Tevenan clocked a 18:23.66 to place ninth as Newman followed nearly 10 seconds later in 12th (18:33.46). Haley Dyer (Danvers, MA) crossed the finish line 75th (19:51.57) while Liz Hansen (Richmond, RI), Caitlin Walde (Edmonds, WA) and Lea Strangio (Watertown, MA) were 81st (19:58.18), 82nd (19:58.64) and 83rd (19:59.06), respectively. Maria Grandoni (Framingham, MA) clocked a 20:03.20 for 87th place.
The Engineers look to take home their seventh straight Worcester City Meet championship on Saturday.
