Men’s Cross Country Posts Runner Up Finish at UMass Dartmouth Invitational

North Dartmouth, MA --- The WPI men's cross country team received top-10 performances from Ryan Moran (Pembroke, MA) and Austin Scott (Waddington, NY) en route to a runner up finish at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday. Division II Franklin Pierce won with 50 points as the Crimson and Gray posted 100.

Moran posted a third place effort with a 25:06.02 while Scott was eighth (25:19.29). Justin Trott (North Hampton, NH) cracked the top-25 with a 24th place time of 25:56.44. Jason Bugarin (Fitchburg, MA) was 26th (25:57.94). Nathan Stomberg (West Greenwich, RI) claimed 39th place (26:16.81) as Andrew Zayac (Plymouth, MA) and Kyle Gerlach (Smithfield, RI) were 53rd (26:35.88) and 57th (26:40.98).

Led by a trio of top-10 finishes by Tristam Winship (Bedford, NH), Daniel Stomski (Dudley, MA) and Joe Kelly (Brooklyn Park, MN), the sub-varsity seven struck gold as the seven Engineer harriers finished in the top 30.

WPI looks to claim its 21st consecutive Worcester City Meet crown on Saturday.
