Paxton, MA --- Led by a trio of top 10 finishes by senior Joe Kelly (Brooklyn Park, MN), junior Anthony Gallo (Rocky Hill, CT) and sophomore Michael McMahon (Pembroke, MA), the WPI men's cross country team finished second at the annual Worcester City Meet hosted by Worcester State at Moore State Park on Saturday morning. Assumption totaled 36 points to unseat the 20-time defending champions, who were resting their top runners in preparation for next week's Paul Short Run at Lehigh.

Kelly earned the 2014 Brian Savilonis award, given to the top overall senior in honor of the long-time WPI head coach, with a sixth-place 29:03. Gallo followed in ninth (29:36) while McMahon was 10th (29:39) and senior Brendon McKeogh (Leicester, MA) came home 11th  in a time of 29:41. Sophomore Kyle Morrison (York, ME) crossed the finish line 15th (29:59) and classmate David Goodrich (North Haven, CT) placed 21st (30:56).
