Westfield, MA --- The WPI women's cross country team raced to a 25th-place finish out of 48 teams at the ECAC Division III Cross Country Championships on Saturday at Stanley Park. The Crimson and Gray posted 737 points as Williams won the meet, which was hosted by Westfield Stats with 48 points.
Freshman Maggie LaRoche (Madison, NH) led the Boynton Hillers with a 131st place time of 25:25.1. Classmate Gina Capobianco (Colonie, NY) came home 147th (25:42.6) and sophomore Gabriela Meza (Wilmington, CA) finished 159th (26:08.9). Rookie Emma MacIntyre (Grand Island, NY) added a top-200 showing with an 176th-place 26:28.7. Sophomore Julia Smith (Cranston, RI) clocked a 26:35.07 for 183rd while classmate Michelle Henderson (Wantagh, NY) was 244th (27:54.6) and fellow sophomore Theresa Inzerillo (Nashua, NH) was 274th (28:45.7).
The Engineers travel to Williamstown on Saturday for the NCAA Division III New England Regionals hosted by Williams.
