Brunswick, ME --- Senior Michael Brady (Medway, MA) crossed the finish line 43rd while all seven members of the WPI men's cross country team placed in the top 100 en route to the program's third 10th-place showing in four years at the NCAA Division III New England Championships Saturday at Bowdoin.
Amherst totaled 65 points to win the title as Williams followed with 86. Middlebury (142), MIT (145) and Tufts (160) rounded out the top five. Bates was next in sixth (161) as the hosts were seventh (193), Conn. College was eighth (236) and Colby was ninth (246). WPI accumulated 316 points and was one of five teams to see all seven in 99th or better.
Brady completed the course in 26:08.87 as freshman Brian Brooks (Brewster, MA) came home 54th (26:15.18) and junior Avery Ingegneri (Warwick, RI) finished 63rd (26:26.34). Classmate Jake Scarponi (Barrington, NH) was 10 spots behind in 73rd (26:37.35) while fellow junior Tom Hanlon (Derry, NH) was 83rd (26:44.23) and sophomore Logan Gaudette (Holden, MA) was 85th (26:46.74). Senior Matt Rabasco (Pittsfield, MA) posted a 98th-place 26:58.06 in his finale.
