Packard and Thomas Tabbed as Track & Field/Cross Country CoSIDA Academic All-Americas
June 23, 2020WORCESTER --- WPI’s Sydney Packard and Oliver Thomas have been chosen as track & field/cross country Academic All-Americas, as selected by College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Packard was selected to the first team while Thomas drew third team accolades. -
WPI Captures NEWMAC Men’s Presidents Cup for the Second Time
June 18, 2020Westwood, MA --- For the second time in the eight-year history of the award, WPI has claimed the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Men’s Presidents Cup, as announced at the conference’s annual meetings earlier this month. The Crimson and Gray also took home the honor after the 2014-15 academic year and had placed second in all four years in between the two victories. -

Not that they’d turn back anyone just because they were graying at the temples. A group of recent WPI graduates, fresh from success in the Engineers’ cross-country and track programs, formed the Old Goat TC two years ago, seeking the outlet to remain competitive as they venture forth with their careers. -
Men's and Women's Cross Country Earn Academic Distinction from USTFCCCA
January 31, 2020New Orleans, LA --- The WPI men’s and women's cross country squads both logged top 20 team GPAs within Division III as both squads were named U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Teams. In addition, five men and three women were recognized for their accomplishments at the NCAA Division III New England Championships and in the classroom. -
Seven Named to NEWMAC's Fall All-Sportsmanship Teams
November 27, 2019Westwood, MA --- The NEWMAC has announced the Fall 2019 All-Sportsmanship team. Logan Gaudette, Jill Comeau, Jivan Purutyan, Abbie Gilbert, Hannah Larochelle and Steve Meyhave been named to their respective NEWMAC All-Sportsmanship teams. Rookie Lora Dufresne from women’s cross-country was also honored. -
79 WPI Fall Student-Athletes Pick Up NEWMAC Academic All-Conference Honors
November 26, 2019Westwood, MA --- WPI placed 79 fall student-athletes on their respective NEWMAC Academic All-Conference teams. Football led the way with 21 selections while women’s soccer boasted 15 and men’s soccer placed ten. Volleyball had seven honorees while field hockey had eight. Women's Cross Country broke its program record by placing ten while men’s cross country saw eight earn accolades. -

Women’s Cross Country Matches Program-Best Finish at NCAA New England Regionals
November 16, 2019Brunswick, ME – The WPI women’s cross-country team put the program’s competitive consistency on display on Saturday’s NCAA Division III New England Championships at Bowdoin, matching the school-record with a 10th-place finish for a third consecutive year. Seniors Sydney Packard and Ari Rozen both finished in the top 50 to lead the Engineers, with Packard coming in the 37th place (22:32.92) and Rozen in 43rd (22:38.90). -
Men’s Cross Country Sets New Standard at NCAA Division III New England Championships
November 16, 2019Brunswick, ME – Freshman David Reynolds helped the WPI men’s cross-country team to its best finish ever in the NCAA Division III New England Championships on Saturday. Reynolds completed the 5-mile course in a blazing time of 25:29.60 to finish in the 20th place, while the Engineers placed in the top 10 for the fourth time in five years, coming in eighth with 246 points. -
