Reynolds, Men’s Cross Country Take Third at UMass Minutemen Invitational

Amherst, MA --- David Reynolds (Andover, NH) placed third overall to lead the WPI men's cross country team to a third place finish at the UMass Minutemen Invitational on Saturday. The 6K, that featured all but one Division I team, was contested on the UMass Cross Country Course.

The hosts won the meet with 33 points, followed closely by Connecticut (35). WPI, the 35th ranked team in Division III came home third (64), ahead of Sacred Heart (115).

Reynolds clocked a 19:25, just a second behind the second place runner from UMass and three seconds behind the winner from Connecticut. Ryan Weeks (Cantonsville, MD) was the next Engineer cross the finish line with a seventh-place 19:45. Brian Brooks (Brewster, MA) followed in 16th (20:04) as did Jake Scarponi (Barrington, NH) in 19th (20:11).

Logan Gaudette (Holden, MA) and Avery Ingegneri (Warwick, RI) were 23rd and 24th with times of 20:18 and 20:30, respectively. Tom Hanlon (Derry, NH) shored up the top seven with a 26th-place 20:39.
