Bethlehem, PA --- Sydney Packard (Georgetown, MA) led the WPI women's cross country team as the Engineers placed 28th in the brown 6K race at the Paul Short Run, hosted by Lehigh, on Saturday.
The Engineers totaled 700 points while the top five consisted of Stony Brook (127), Columbia (176), Buffalo (205), Dickinson (209) and SUNY Geneseo (219). In all there were 44 scoring teams in the race.
Packard was the 101st student-athlete across the finish line with a time of 22:41.1. Ari Rozen (Carver, MA) was seven spots behind in 108th (22:44.2) while Grace Hadley (North Reading, MA) was 137th (22:54.0). Charlotte Kokernak (Niskayuna, NY) came home 175th (23:10.5) and Keely Nistler (Vadnais Heights, MN) was 192nd (23:20.1). Callie Schadt (Brewster, MA) and Mary Scrivanich (Old Tappan, NJ) were 221st (23:32.9) and 245th (23:51.8), respectively. Kaylee Gladu (Woonsocket, RI) and Kaelyn Foss (Thomaston, CT) also competed for the Engineers.
WPI heads to Franklin Park for the NEICAAA (All-New England All-Divisions) Championships Saturday.
