Waterford, CT --- Brian Brooks (Brewster, MA) finished 27th to lead the WPI men's cross country team to a 10th-place finish at the Connecticut College Invitational Saturday at Harkness Memorial State Park.
The 8K, which featured eight nationally-ranked team teams and all but one team in the USTFCCCA New England coaches top 10, saw the regional No. 8 Engineers best New England No. 6 Tufts, New England No. 7 Connecticut College, New England No. 10 Trinity, Atlantic No. 6 Ramapo, Atlantic No. 9 Rochester, and Midwest No. 9 Wisconsin Whitewater
No. t-1 Williams College won the meet with 59 points, followed by No. 12 MIT (94), No. 14 RPI (148), New England No. 9 Colby (158), No. 20 Middlebury (188), No. 35 St. Lawrence (220), No. 27 Ithaca (223), No. 26 Carleton (233), No. 18 Amherst (235) and WPI (295).
Brooks posted a 25:18.1, just .1 off of 26th and .3 shy of 25th. David Reynolds (Andover, NH) came home 40th (25:29.0), followed by Jake Scarponi (Barrington, NH) in 71st (25:53.4) and Tom Hanlon (Derry, NH) in 95th (26:03.6). Logan Gaudette (Holden, MA) added a 104th-place 26:09.3 to go with a 185th-place 26:51.8 by Avery Ingegneri (Warwick, RI). Blake Audibert (Milford, NH) completed the WPI scoring entries with a 206th-place 27:08.3.
WPI is off until Sunday, November 3rd when the team makes a return trip to Franklin Park for the 2019 NEWMAC Championships.
