Our Summer Rewind series makes a splash with a look back at early November, when the WPI women's 200 medley relay earned NEWMAC Relay of the Week honors. The quartet of Audrey Dino, Alia Ureta, Sarah Kang, and Leah Kolb clocked a winning time at home to earn the program's first relay recognition since 2021.
Westwood, MA --- The WPI women's 200 Medley Relay was selected as the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Women's Relay of the Week for the week ending on November 3rd.
Joining the Crimson and Gray in conference weekly accolades were Fiora Beratahani and Iris Yang of MIT as the Women's Diver and Swimmer of the Week respectively.
The foursome of Audrey Dino (St. Louis, MO), Alia Ureta (Hackensack, NJ), Sarah Kang (Richmond, VA) and Leah Kolb (Canton, MI) clocked a time of 1:50.93 to take first place in the 200-medley relay as WPI went 3-1 in a multi-level dual meet at home against Babson, Brandeis, Coast Guard and Smith on Friday evening.
This week's honor for the women's program is the first of the 2024-25 season and first relay weekly citation since the October of 2021.
WPI turns to the coveted Worcester City Championships featuring NCAA Division I Holy Cross, Division II Assumption and conference foe Clark this Saturday at the WPI Sports & Recreation Center with action starting at 10 am.
