Maddie Katz joined the WPI Swimming & Diving staff as the new full-time assistant coach ahead of the 2024-25 season.
Katz comes to Worcester most recently from Spain where she served as a North American Language Assistant for the Ministry of Education of Spain. She taught students aged 12-18 and collaborated with teachers to plan and deliver English language instruction in a Spanish secondary school.
Prior to teaching duties in Spain, Katz was a member of NCAA Division I South Dakota's swimming and diving program where she was an active participant in the championship scoring roster and scorer in NCAA national runner-up triathlon team in 2019. The former Coyote closed out her career as a finalist in the 200 Fly event in the 2023 Summit League Championship.
Outside of the water at South Dakota, Katz was a Student-Athlete Peer Mentor, Student Ambassador and member of the National Spanish Honor Society. The Hamilton, Massachusetts native graduated with as a double major with a bachelor's of science in biology and a bachelor's of arts in Spanish.
