WORCESTER -- In a meet that came down to the very last event, the WPI men's swimming and diving team pulled out a narrow victory over Division II Southern Connecticut State on Friday night at home. The Engineers tallied 155 points to the Owls' 145 to move to 3-1 on the season.
With 15 events down, WPI held a slim 142-141 advantage, setting up a winner take all final event, the 200-yard freestyle relay. The Engineers got the final push they needed, as the team of Peter Fagerholm (Sandy Hook, CT), Donald Buglino (Titusville, NJ), John Puksta (Nashua, NH), and Jack Brazer (Peterborough, NH) outpaced SCSU by just under two seconds, 1:27.66 to 1:29.29, to take the event and the meet.
All in all, the Engineers tallied six victories, including sweeping both relays to earn the dual meet win. Individual event winners were Fagerholm, Kyle Staubi (Red Hook, NY), Aidan Greenfield (East Northport, NY), and Henry Buda (Laurel, MD).

In addition to the 200-yard freestyle relay win to close the meet, WPI also grabbed a win in the 200-yard medley relay to open the action. Staubi, Eric Scholz (Fulton, MD), Matthew Shriner (Arlington, MA), and Fagerholm led a 1-2-3 Engineer finish in the event, taking it in a time of 1:38.30.
In the diving events, Justin Moczynski (Hingham, MA) notched a pair of second place finishes. He tallied 255.90 points on the one-meter board and 221.55 on the three-meter board.
