Eight from Women’s Swimming Earn NEWMAC Academic All-Conference Spots

Women’s Swimming NEWMAC Academic All-Conference
Marlboro, MA --- Eight student-athletes from the WPI women's swimming and diving program earned NEWMAC Academic All-Conference honors for the 2026 winter season, as announced by the league office.
 
Seniors Kaitlyn Grove (Cheshire, CT), Chloe Johnson (Rosemount, MN), Rachel Tsang (Acton, MA) and junior Katrina Waite (Falmouth, ME) earned Academic All-Conference honors for the second straight year.
 
Sophomores Sarah Kang (Richmond, VA), Maria Korneva (Boylston, MA), Sophie Robinson (Westboro, MA), and Alia Ureta (Hackensack, NJ) each received the accolade for the first time in their careers.
 
To be eligible for Academic All-Conference honors, student-athletes must have maintained a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale) or 4.35 (on a 5.0 scale) following the 2025 fall semester, achieved at least sophomore academic standing, and been a member of the varsity team for the full season.
 
The NEWMAC is an association of 12 selective academic institutions: Babson College, Clark University, U.S Coast Guard Academy, Emerson College, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Mount Holyoke College, Salve Regina University, Smith College, Springfield College, Wellesley College, Wheaton College, and Worcester Polytechnic Institute, that are committed to providing high quality competitive athletic opportunities for student-athletes within an educational and respectful environment that embodies the NCAA Division III Philosophy. The conference also partners with eight Associate Members: Brandeis University (Women's Lacrosse, 2026-2027), New York University (Men's Volleyball, 2026-2027), Norwich University (Football), Simmons College (Rowing), SUNY Maritime College (Football), SUNY New Paltz (Men's Volleyball, 2026-2027), U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (Football), and Vassar College (Men's Volleyball, 2026-2027), while sponsoring 20 sports.
