Williams (x3), Shriner, Moczynski Post Wins for Men's Swimming and Diving at Coast Guard

New London, CT --- The WPI men's swimming and diving team fell to Coast Guard Saturday afternoon 173-127 picking up six individual titles in the dual meet loss.  

Once again, Sidney Williams (Fairfax, VA) came away with a few first place finishes for the Engineers earning the victory in the 100 Back with a time of 51.84, the 50 Free in 21.98 seconds and the 100 Free with a time of 48.00 seconds.  

Joining Williams and earning an individual title in the 200 Fly was Matthew Shriner (Arlington, MA) who finished first with a time of 1:57.33. Shriner also brought home a second place, 2:03.21 finish in the 200 IM to close the individual races. 

The other medals came on the diving side of things with Justin Moczynski (Hingham, MA) continuing his success with a season best 309.15 point, first place finish in the 1-meter dive followed by a 291.07 point first place finish in the 3-meter dive, yet another season.  

Eric Scholz (Fulton, MD), Roman Henry (Mullica Hill, NJ), and Austin Aguirre (Santa Maria, CA) finished second-third-fourth in the 100 Breast with times of 1:01.65, 1:02.51 and 1:02.56 respectively. While Peter Fagerholm (Sandy Hook, CT) and Kyle Staubi (Red Hook, NY) filled the podium in the 200 Back with second (1:58.89) and third (2:00.90) finishes.  

Staubi also took home a second place finish in the 100 Fly finishing in 51.50. 

The squad will be back in action on Friday, Nov. 12 with a dual meet at the Sports and Recreation Center against Southern Connecticut at 5pm.
