Madi Robito (Pelham, NH) collected a pair of points featuring a goal and an assist to help the UNE to a 3-0 win over the visiting Engineers in a non-conference field hockey contest on Thursday afternoon.
WPI slips to 0-3 and UNE advances to 1-2 on the 2023 campaign.
The Crimson and Gray held the contest to a scoreless stalemate through the opening 30 minutes with a slight edge in shots over UNE (5-4) before the Nor'easters netted three tallies in the second half on eight shots to seal the non-conference victory over WPI.
Eve Martineau(Greene, ME) and
Arie Lang (West Hartford, CT) led the charge in strikes for the Engineers today combining for nine shots.
The first marker came in the third quarter on a successful Nor'easters' corner as
Gianna Korisianos (Peabody, MA) connected with
Lily Clough (Wells, ME) to put the hosts up 1-0 at 38:56.
In the final stanza, Robito took advantage of a loose ball and placed it to the back side of the cage unassisted to extend the lead to two before Robito trickled a ball past the defense for a Isabel Culver (Oakland, ME) tap-in goal marking a 3-0 result.

Dawn DeWeese-Moss (Pittsfield, ME) collected with three saves for the win.
The Boynton Hillers return to Worcester to host Endicott this Saturday for the 2023 home debut at H. Carr Field at Alumni Stadium at 3pm as the Nor'easters travel to Vermont to take on No. 1 Middlebury on Sunday, September 10th for a scheduled 12pm start.
