Boston, MA --- WPI graduate student
David Reynolds (Andover, NH) rewrote his own school record as track and field competed at the Terrier Classic hosted by Boston University on Friday.
Reynolds kicked off the action for the Engineers this morning at 10 AM in the 5000-meter run and dropped a 14:37.36 for seventh overall and second among NCAA Division III runners in the trek as classmate
Avinash Bissoondial (Millbury, MA) finished 17th and recorded a personal record by 18 seconds after crossing the line at 14:49.12.
In the 800-meter run, sophomore
Thomas Skerry (Dedham, MA) logged a 1:57.89 time. Senior captain
Tristan Andrew (Newtown, CT) posted a 22.31 time in the 200-meter dash for an indoor personal record as fellow sprinter
Alex Cole (Weymouth, MA) followed up with a 22.63 mark for an all-time personal best as both sprinters claimed postseason qualifications.
The five o'clock hour featured the women's DMR comprised of
Caitlin Guilfoyle (Hastings-on-Hudson, NY),
Isabel Hallal (Foxboro, MA),
Elise Deshusses (Chapel Hill, NC) and
Amelia Kokernak (Niskayuna, NY) who joined forces for a top-10 finish after crossing the finish line at 12:16.67.
Closing out the action on Friday evening was sophomore
Brinson Wyche (Corvallis, MT) who recorded an 8:43.85 time in the 3000 meter event for third in his section.
Quick turnaround for the WPI track and field program. Select women will compete tomorrow in the BU Terrier Classic while both teams will participate in the Wheaton Invitational in Norton.
