Springfield, MA --- The WPI men's track and field team wrapped up the indoor regular season with a successful competition at Springfield's Triangle Classic on Saturday. The Engineers saw two wins, three postseason standards, 23 podium spots at the meet.
Sophomore
Thomas Skerry (Dedham, MA) led three Engineers in the 600m event, claiming victory in a time of 1:23.98. His late surge in the race earned him a New England Division III qualifying time. Sophomore
Everett Mosher (Chester, VT) was fifth in the event in 1:25.53, while junior
Brendan May (Rutland, MA) was sixth in 1:26.08.
In the 800m event, another trio of WPI student-athletes recorded podium spots, including a win from sophomore
Brinson Wyche (Corvallis, MT). Wyche ran a 1:57.06, marking both a personal best and a postseason qualifying standard. Senior
Avinash Bissoondial (Millbury, MA) placed fourth in the event, going 2:00.02, while senior
Andrew Peyton (Merrimack, NH) was seventh in 2:04.19.

Jarrett Gulden (Walpole, ME) was the runner-up in the 1000m event, recording a time of 2:36.64 to earn a personal best and a postseason qualifying time. Freshman
Trip Williams (Pelham, NH) was fifth in the same event, going 2:41.15 to take fifth place.
In the spot put, freshman
Michael Zuo (Worcester, MA) had a personal best throw of 14.78m to place second overall, while classmate
Ethan Anderson (North Haven, CT) was eighth in 12.77m. Anderson also nabbed a podium spot in the weight throw, with a final mark of 15.53m.
Gavin Fleck (Bend. OR) also nabbed a runner-up finish at Springfield. The sophomore cleared 4.70m in the pole vault, marking a season-best result.
Sophomores
Dylan Serreyn (Windom, MN) and
Brett Gerlach (Lock Haven, PA) and junior
Matthew Catuccio (Trumbull, CT) all finished in the top eight in the high jump. Serreyn was third and Gerlach was fourth, both clearing 1.95m, while Catuccio was sixth, with a successful attempt on 1.90m.
Senior
Connor Gaudette (Holden, MA) and junior
Sean Corman (Waterford, CT) were both on the podium in the 5k. Gaudette was third in 16:09.94, while Corman was seventh in 16:44.03.
Senior
Tristan Andrew (Newtown, CT) and freshman
Ethan Anderson (North Haven, CT) both notched third place finishes at the meet. Andrew took third in the 200m dash, going 22.92, while Anderson threw 15.53m to earn third in the weight throw.
Rounding out the individual performances, sophomore
Nathan Barry (Newburyport, MA) ran a season-best time in the mile, going 4:36.58 to place seventh overall.
Closing the meet highlights, in the 4x400m relay, the Engineers foursome of sophomore
Anthony Minichiello (Burlington, MA), freshman
Gabriel D'Amour (Somers, CT), Peyton, and May combined for a runner-up finish in a time of 3:32.84.
Qualified Engineers now head to next weekend's New England Division III Championships. The meet will take place on Sunday, February 25 at the Track at New Balance in Boston.
William Pagliarulo (Bedford, NH) will be competing Friday and Saturday in the Multis portion of the championships which will be held at Tufts.
