Track and Field's Hadley, Reynolds Break Records at Raleigh Relays

David Reynolds and Grace Hadley
Raleigh, NC --- Two student-athletes competed and two school records fell, as the WPI track and field team represented the Engineers well at the Raleigh Relays at Umstead State Park on Friday.

Graduate students Grace Hadley (North Reading, MA) and David Reynolds (Andover, NH) made their outdoor debut in record-setting fashion at the event.

Racing her first 10k, Hadley broke WPI's oldest women's record on the board, going 34:06.68. She smashed the previous best of 37:44.00set in 2004 by Sarah Bellfy '04. Hadley's time is second in Division III this season and currently stands as the 14th-best time in Division III history.

Reynolds also made a splash in his season-opener, lowering his own school record in the same event. He went 29:56.12, which is in the top five among Division III runners this season.

The WPI track and field team has more student-athletes competing at this weekend's Corsair Classic on the campus of UMass-Dartmouth.
