Waterford, CT --- The WPI women's cross country squad joined forces for a 14th place team finish at the Conn College Invitational at the Harkness Memorial State Park in Waterford, Connecticut, on Saturday morning.
In the White Open race, No. 2 Williams won the event with four of the top five placements for 20 team points in the 345-runner field. No. 18 Tufts finished second with 74 team points followed by No. 13 Middlebury (123 points), No. 5 MIT (124 points) and No. 1 NYU finished fifth (153). WPI finished 14th overall of 33 teams.

Estella Laird (Lincoln, VT) took home the individual title with a 22:02.6 time in the 6,000-meter race followed by teammates
Lily Yampolsky (Cornelius, NC),
Clara Gahm (Guilford, CT) and
Hannah Prokup (Rose Valley, PA) to register the first four runners of the race. Tufts'
Grace Doyle(Providence, RI) rounded out the top five with a 22:32.3 time.
Sophia Reynolds (Andover, NH) paced the Crimson and Gray at 57th overall with a 23:39.7, followed by
Kayleigh Carnazza (Virginia Beach, VA) who finished 82nd at 24:03.7.
Catherine Daly (Groton, MA) crossed the finish line at 24:32.3 just ahead of
Bethany Brown (Allentown, PA) at 24:56.3.
Grace Connell (Far Hills, NJ) clocked in at 25:02.7 to round out the top five Crimson and Gray runners.
WPI returns to the trails in a few weeks for the NEWMAC Championships hosted by Wheaton on Saturday, November 1.
