Hoboken, NJ --- The WPI volleyball team dropped a pair of matches on Saturday at the Canavan Arena Tri-Match, falling 3-0 (25-11, 25-17, 25-15) to host Stevens Institute of Technology and 3-0 (25-17, 25-9, 25-23.) to Eastern University. With the results, WPI moves to 10-15 on the season, while the Ducks go to 17-9 and the Eagles improve to 19-5.

Match 1: Stevens 3, WPI 0
WPI fell to regionally-ranked Stevens in three sets to open action at the tri-match. The Ducks hit .388 as a team while holding WPI to .121 for the match.

Olivia Hutchinson (Erie, PA) led WPI with eight kills, while
Anastasia Kelnik (Fair Lawn, NJ) followed with seven and
Fiona Gillis (Manchester, NH) added three.
Lauren Boycourt (San Diego, CA) and
Preslie Jerebker (Denver, CO) ran the offense with 22 combined assists, and
Abby Harrington (Londonderry, NH) anchored the defense with nine digs.

Stevens was powered by
Alyssa O'Neal (Davenport, IA) with 16 kills and
Sarah Bolduc (Hooksett, NH) with 11.
Molly Harris (The Woodlands, TX) paced the Ducks with 38 assists, while
Vivian Lisboa (Beaumont, CA) added nine digs and three aces.

The Ducks took control early in the first set, using a 7-0 opening run to build momentum en route to a 25-11 win behind a .419 hitting percentage. WPI battled in the second, keeping the score close before Stevens closed on a late 6-2 stretch to take it 25-17. The third set saw Stevens hit .500 as the Ducks used a balanced attack to pull away 25-15 and secure the sweep.

Match 2: Eastern 3, WPI 0
In the nightcap, Eastern earned a 3-0 win over WPI. The Engineers were held to a .117 attack as a team, while the Eagles hit .333 with 10 aces.

Gillis led the Engineers with 11 kills, while
Zeala VanDamme (San Diego, CA), Hutchinson and Kelnik each chipped in four. Boycourt tallied 16 assists, and Harrington recorded a team-high 10 digs.

Eastern was paced by
Hannah Pringle (East Greenville, PA) with 19 kills.
Veronica Faber (Boca Raton, FL) added seven kills and
Alexis Standford (Walkersville, MD) had six.
Sarah Furey (Breinigsville, PA) registered 42 assists, while
Grace Cooper (Collegeville, PA) collected 13 digs.

Eastern opened the match hitting .400 in the first set, using steady sideouts to win 25-17. The Eagles dominated the second frame, recording 12 kills with no errors and a .480 clip to take it 25-9. WPI pushed the third to the wire, rallying to within one at 24-23 before Eastern closed the match on a kill from Pringle to finish the sweep.

WPI returns home for a NEWMAC matchup against Wheaton on Wednesday, November 5 at 6pm in Harrington Auditorium. Stevens visits Delaware Valley the same night, while Eastern hosts York College.
