WORCESTER -- The WPI women's rowing team wrapped up its 2025-26 campaign Sunday at the National Invitational Rowing Championship on Lake Quinsigamond, racing against one of the deepest Division III fields of the spring season.
The Engineers opened the day in the women's four, placing third in their morning heat with a time of 9:18.676 to advance to the grand final alongside Williams, Trinity, Wesleyan, Wellesley and UNH.
In the afternoon, WPI finished sixth in the women's four grand final with a time of 10:28.895. Williams claimed the race in 9:15.891, followed by Trinity and Wellesley.
The second varsity eight placed fourth in its morning heat in 7:53.648 before racing in the petite final later in the day. WPI crossed sixth in the petite final with a time of 8:14.651 against crews from Wellesley, Smith, Hamilton, Coast Guard and Rochester.
The varsity eight competed in a challenging morning heat that included No. 1 Williams, No. 6 Wesleyan and No. 7 Wellesley in the latest Division III V8 poll. The Engineers finished fifth in the heat in 7:45.307 before returning in the afternoon to place third in the third-level final with a time of 7:46.167, trailing only Rochester and Ithaca
The National Invitational Rowing Championships marks the end of the 2025-26 season for the Crimson and Gray, who will return to train in late August and will compete in the fall season which includes the Quinsigamond Snake Regatta, the iconic Head of the Charles Regatta and the Wormtown Chase Regatta in October.
