Emily Dippel

Emily Dippel joined WPI Athletics as the head track & field coach in November of 2023 and will be entering her second year in 2024-2025. 

Dippel spent the last two years just down Park Ave., serving as the first full-time head men's and women's cross country coach at Clark. She was also the Director of Club Sports for the Cougars and this season took on the responsibilities centered around athlete success, including heading a Student-Athlete Mental Health Committee, advising the Clark Athlete's Inclusion Committee, aiding in the Leadership Council, and heading efforts to align team expectations within the department.
 
Prior to Clark, Dippel spent two years as an assistant cross country and track and field Coach at Connecticut College. Dippel was responsible for every aspect of training for the Camel sprinters, hurdlers, jumpers, pole vaulters, and throwers including planning daily technical and strength training, goal setting/tracking, sport psychology sessions, and cultivating meaningful relationships with student-athletes.

Dippel was a four-year scholarship track and field student-athlete at Merrimack, where she earned her undergraduate degree in athletic training.  She then spent two years at the University of Tennessee where she received her master's degree in kinesiology and served as an assistant coach at the Knoxville Track and Field Club.  While in Knoxville, Dippel was a mental performance coach an athletic trainer at South Doyle High School.
