Jacob Brown enters his first season as a volunteer assistant coach with WPI Track & Field, bringing collegiate coaching experience in jumps and combined events alongside an accomplished career as a student-athlete.
Brown’s coaching background includes serving as an assistant coach at Lasell University, where he developed weekly training plans for jumps and multi-event athletes and provided technical instruction during competitions. He also coached with Bounce Squad Track Club, working with athletes from middle school through college across sprints, jumps, and middle-distance events.
A former team captain at Denison University, Brown was a five-time North Coast Athletic Conference champion, nine-time All-Conference selection, and seven-time All-Great Lakes Region honoree. He qualified twice for the NCAA Division III Championships, earned two Academic All-American honors, and was named the NCAC Field Athlete of the Year in 2024. Brown continued his collegiate career at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, earning an Atlantic 10 championship, two All-Conference selections, and two Atlantic 10 All-Academic Team honors.
Brown earned a bachelor’s degree in data analytics with a concentration in psychology from Denison in 2024 and a master’s degree in data analytics and computational social science from UMass Amherst in 2026.
