Matt Kelley enters his first season as an assistant coach with WPI Wrestling ahead of the 2026-2027 season, bringing collegiate wrestling experience, a background in athlete development, and professional expertise in physical therapy.
Kelley joined the coaching staff at Foxboro High School as a volunteer assistant in November 2023, providing technical instruction and mentorship to student-athletes. His coaching experience also includes leading the Foxboro Middle School summer wrestling camp and teaching young wrestlers at Logan’s Rascals Youth Camp.
A former member of the varsity wrestling team at Ithaca College, Kelley earned a bachelor’s degree in clinical health studies with a minor in business administration in 2021 and a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2023. He also participated in Ithaca’s Leadership Academy. Before college, Kelley was a three-year captain and two-time All-State champion at Foxboro High School, recording 200 career wins.
Kelley’s professional background includes working as a physical therapist at Elite Physical Therapy in Lincoln, Rhode Island, helping patients improve mobility, strength, and functional performance. His experience in rehabilitation and injury prevention complements his work developing wrestlers on the mat.
