Stephon Baxter joins the WPI men's basketball program with coaching experience at the high school level and extensive playing experience at the collegiate and professional levels. Baxter most recently served as an assistant coach at Saint John's High School in Shrewsbury, assisting with practice planning, player development, scouting, game preparation, travel and scheduling. He also competed professionally in China and the Netherlands beginning in 2025.

Baxter enjoyed a standout NCAA Division III career, helping Babson College capture the NEWMAC Championship and advance to the NCAA Tournament in 2023-24 while earning NEWMAC MVP and First Team All-Conference honors. He was also recognized by the NABC and D3hoops.com. Prior to Babson, Baxter spent four seasons at Bates College, serving as a two-year captain, earning All-State and NESCAC All-Conference honors and joining the 1,000-Point Club.

Baxter earned a bachelor's degree in Sociology from Bates in 2023 and a master's degree in Management in Entrepreneurial Leadership from Babson in 2024. He also gained experience in athletics operations at Bates, supporting facilities, equipment, scheduling, statistics and game-day operations.
