Meagan Rowlett (Los Angeles, CA) and
Natalie Barnouw (Los Angeles, CA) both accounted for a goal and an assist to propel the nationally-ranked MIT women's soccer team to a 4-0 win over NEWMAC rival WPI on Saturday afternoon in a driving rainstorm on MIT's Roberts Field.
MIT, which is ranked ninth in the most recent United Soccer Coaches Top 25, bounced back from its first NEWMAC loss of the season on Wednesday at Babson and improves to 14-2-2 overall and 8-1 in NEWMAC play. WPI dips to 6-6-4 on the season and 2-3-5 in conference play.
The hosts amassed a pair of goals in each half.
Lexi Spinetta (Austin, TX) netted the first goal just 8:07 in on a double assist from
Lauren Davis (Armonk, NY) and Barnouw and
Arianna Doss (Houston, TX) struck just 2:07 before intermission on a helper from
Mia Sedgwick (Wilmette, IL). MIT put the game away with a pair of goals less then three minutes apart early in the second half with an unassisted tally from Rowlett at 55:44 and a Barnouw marker from Rowlett just 2:24 later.

Morgan Everett (Danville, PA) was credited with four stops for MIT while
Lili Hellerman (Ashland, MA) made one save for WPI.
For the match, the homestanding Engineers held a 12-5 edge in shots and a 11-3 advantage in corner kicks.
Madisyn Bagby (Aurora, CO) accounted for multiple shots for the guests while
Olivia Toolin (Bedford, NH),
Lily Guiliano (North Salem, NY) and
Delaney Mohl (Hopewell Junction, NY) each dented the shot column once.
Both teams play their penultimate regular season NEWMAC contest on Wednesday. WPI entertains Emerson at 7pm while MIT ventures to Wellesley for a 3pm contest.
