Field Hockey’s Meinhold and Martineau Announced to NFHCA Division III Senior Team

NFHCA Division III Senior Team - Lauren Meinhold & Eve Martineau - WPI Field Hockey

Colorado Springs, CO — WPI Field Hockey graduate student Lauren Meinhold (Boxboro, MA) and senior Eve Martineau (Greene, ME) were selected to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III Senior Team as announced by the NFHCA on Thursday. 

Meinhold and Martineau will be joined by NEWMAC selections Georgia Costello (Salve Regina), Callahan Day (Smith), Julia Decker (Salve Regina), Caroline DiGiovanni (Babson), Bailey McIntyre (MIT), and Sanne Van Der Goes (Babson) as the NEWMAC will represent eight of 60 total selections to the Senior Team. 

The veteran duo will be the most recent student-athletes to be represent WPI since Shannon Hynes '19 played at the former NFHCA Division III Senior Game that was played until 2019 before being reformatted to the NFHCA Division III Senior Team in 2021. Before Hynes, the most previous selection was 2018 Hall of Fame inductee Kelly Johnson '09.  

Meinhold, led the Crimson and Gray with 10 goals and five assists for 25 points this fall, including a trio of game-winning goals as the graduate student started in all 21 contests for the Engineers. The graduate student captain concluded her career as a three-time All-NEWMAC honoree in field hockey and a hopeful two-time All-Region selection, with 27 goals and 26 assists for 80 points in 77 starts of 78 games played.
Fellow captain Martineau served as a vital contributor in the midfield with a pair of goals and assists during 2025 en route to earning her third-career All-NEWMAC Postseason nod and currently stands as a two-time All-Region honoree. Martineau wrapped up her career with 10 goals and nine assists and four game-winners as the senior started in all 79 games throughout her stint with the Crimson and Gray. 

Both, Meinhold and Martineau, played part in a 60-37 overall record and a 32-11 mark in NEWMAC play over the last five seasons under the direction of head coach Kim Cosenza. The Engineers finished 15-6 overall this fall, including the program's first-ever NEWMAC Championship appearance in the NEWMAC era and earned an at-large bid into the 2025 NCAA Division III Field Hockey Championship tournament. The at-large selection marked the fifth-ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament and led to the first NCAA postseason victory since 1989 as No. 22 WPI shutout No. 15 Stevenson,1-0, in Owings Mills, Maryland.
