Cross Country’s Wyche and Mosher Conclude Campaign at NCAA Division III Cross Country National Championship

Spartanburg, SC — WPI cross country seniors Brinson Wyche (Corvallis, MT) and Everett Mosher (Chester, VT) wrapped up the 2025 campaign at the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships on Saturday morning at Milliken Research Park in Spartanburg, South Carolina, hosted by Converse.

Taking home the team title was No. 1 Wisconsin-La Crosse with 82 team points and three of its five runners finishing in the top five individually. Following was No. 4 SUNY Geneseo (132) who finished second just ahead of No. 2 Wartburg (133). No. 5 NYU posted 175 team points for fourth rounded out by No. 5 RPI with 182.

Individually, No. 3 Johns Hopkins' Emmanuel Leblond bested the field with a 23:35.0 time. Augsburg's Mohammed Bati finished as the national runner-up by .3 seconds ahead of Cornell College's Isaac Vanwestrienen (23:39.6 to 23:39.9) for second and third respectively. Ryan Hagan of SUNY Geneseo crossed the finish line 23:52.7 for fourth followed by Wisconsin-La Crosse's Grant Matthai to round out the top five at 23:53.7. 

For the Engineers, Wyche, who earned all-region honors and a trip to Spartansburg for the national race with a personal best time crossed the finish at 26:33.4. The Montana native posted 14th-place finishes at both the NEWMAC Championship and the East Regional title meet. 
Fellow classmate Mosher, who made his debut season in cross country this fall en route to finishing fourth overall at the NEWMAC Championships and eighth at the regional championship, surged ahead early as he marked up to 32nd overall individually through the first 3,000 meters before dropping back and finishing at 29:01.4. 
The WPI distance crew will now turn to the indoor track and field season slated to start on December 6th at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener hosted by Boston University.
