Colorado Springs, CO --- WPI Field Hockey graduate student
Lauren Meinhold (Boxboro, MA) was selected to the 2025 National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III All-America Third Team as announced today.
The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) announced the 48 NCAA Division III student-athletes selected by member coaches as the 2025 NFHCA All-Americans.
Meinhold becomes the most recent All-American honoree for the program in over 35 years coinciding with WPI's prolonged success in the late 80's and early 90's featuring WPI Hall of Famers
Danielle (Luongo) Fries '94,
Sue Tarallo '93 (2x),
Nicola (McGowan) Campbell '90.
In 2025, Meinhold returned to the NFHCA all-region team for the second-straight season as she paced the Crimson and Gray with 10 goals and five assists including three game-winning markers as she started in all 21 games for WPI. The graduate student midfielder concluded her career with 27 goals and 26 assists for 80 points in 77 starts of 78 games played for WPI en route to pulling in three All-NEWMAC postseason accolades in addition to earning a spot on the NFHCA Division III senior team.
The Engineers finished 15-6 overall this fall, including the program's first-ever NEWMAC Championship appearance in the NEWMAC era and earned an at-large bid into the 2025 NCAA Division III Field Hockey Championship tournament. The at-large selection marked the fifth-ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament and led to the first NCAA postseason victory since 1989 as No. 22 WPI shutout No. 15 Stevenson,1-0, in Owings Mills, Maryland, before falling to eventual national runner-up Johns Hopkins in the round of 16.
