WORCESTER -- Ninth-ranked WPI women's rowing was action on Saturday, hosting its third regatta of the spring, welcoming No. 4 Trinity, No. 15 Clark, receiving votes Colby and Connecticut College on Lake Quinsigamond straddling the city of Worcester and the town of Shrewsbury.
 
The ninth-ranked WPI Women's Rowing program continued its strong spring season with three second-place finishes in varsity races during Saturday morning's regatta on Lake Quinsigamond. Competing against multiple nationally ranked opponents, the Engineers impressed in the Varsity Eight, Second Varsity Eight, and Third Varsity Eight events.

In the Varsity Eight, WPI posted a time of 7:24.31, placing second behind No. 4 Trinity (7:18.35). The Engineers outpaced (RV) Colby (7:38.00), No. 15 Clark (7:43.41), and Connecticut College (8:09.31), who is receiving votes in the latest CRCA/Pocock national poll.

The Second Varsity Eight followed suit, clocking in at 7:45.49 to claim another runner-up finish behind Trinity (7:25.90). WPI finished comfortably ahead of Colby (8:07.22), Clark (8:08.61), and Connecticut College (8:20.61).

Rounding out the morning, the Third Varsity Eight continued the streak of silver finishes for the Crimson and Gray, crossing in 7:50.14 behind only Trinity (7:46.60) and ahead of Connecticut College (8:18.28).
 
The Engineers host #3 Tufts on Easter Sunday in the Baker Cup.  Action begins with the Varsity Eight at 9:10am.
