Montclair, NJ --- Four different Montclair State players netted goals, including three in the second half, as the host Red Hawks blanked visiting WPI in a matchup of undefeated men's soccer squads on Saturday afternoon at MSU Soccer Park in Northern New Jersey.
Montclair State, second in the most recent United Soccer Coaches Region IV rankings, remains unbeaten in 2025 with a 4-0-2 mark while the Engineers, who suffered their first setback of the season, slip to 2-1-2 overall.
Kenet Lopez (Plainfield, NJ) wasted no time putting Montclair State on top when he registered a goal just 65 seconds into the match. The hosts would hold the narrow 1-0 advantage into the half despite outshooting the Engineers 10-3 over the opening 45 minutes.
The Red Hawks built separation from the visitors with three goals in less than 20 minutes midway through the second stanza.
Kyle Moore (Freehold, NJ) put Montclair State up 2-0 on a marker just a minute short of the hour mark while
Aiden Cummings (Baltimore, MD) scored on an assist off the foot of
Kevin Contreras (Northvale, NJ) just less than 10 minutes later at 68:34.
Danny Tobon (Clifton, NJ) closed out the scoring with an unassisted tally early in the 79th minute.

Floris Huiskers (Amsterdam, Netherlands) made four stop in his first career start in net for the Crimson and Gray while
Diesel Fiore (Las Vegas, NV) repelled a trio of shots while earning the clean sheet for the hosts.
The Red Hawks enjoyed a 23-5 edge in shots on the day with the visitors getting two shots from
Mike Montabana (Jamison, PA) and once each by
Fabio Bastida-Andreu (Logrono, Spain),
Tora Ito (Hopkinton, MA) and
Matthew Murray (Sandwich, MA).
WPI returns home Tuesday for its final non-conference contest before kicking off the NEWMAC season with a trip to nationally-ranked Babson next weekend. The Engineers will host Skidmore (NY) at 7pm Tuesday at H. Carr Field at Alumni Stadium. Montclair State is off until next Saturday night when it hosts Vassar at 7pm.
